Χορογράφος_Δασκάλα χορού
Η Γιώτα Πεκλάρη είναι χορεύτρια και δασκάλα χορού με
διαθεματικό χορογραφικό λεξιλόγιο που εμβαθύνει στην ηχητική και κοινωνική διάσταση του κινούμενου σώματος.
Είναι απόφοιτος της Ανώτερης Επαγγελματικής Σχολής Χορού Ραλλού Μάνου και συνιδρύτρια του PLAYGROUND for the arts, ενός πολιτιστικού οργανισμού αφιερωμένου στην προώθηση μιας διεθνούς κοινότητας καλλιτεχνών, μαθητών και κοινού που μοιράζονται ένα βαθύ ενδιαφέρον για τις παραστατικές τέχνες, με ιδιαίτερη έμφαση στην εξερεύνηση και τη μελέτη του ρυθμού.
Έχει στο ενεργητικό της πλήθος συνεργασίες και εμφανίσεις σε σημαντικά φεστιβάλ στην Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό συμπεριλαμβανομένων των: Flamenco tanzhaus.nrw, Flamenco Festival London, Festival Musicale del Mediterraneo, Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου Ολυμπίας για Παιδιά και Νέους, και έχει παρουσιάσει δουλειά της σε χώρους όπως το Μουσείο Μπενάκη στην Αθήνα, το SFJazz στο Σαν Φρανσίσκο, το Spinnerei στη Λειψία, το Sadler's Wells στο Λονδίνο, το Pygméteatern στην Στοκχόλμη και το Πανεπιστήμιο Berkeley στην Καλιφόρνια, στην πόλη Hangzhou στην Κίνα.
Από το 1995 διατηρεί μια διαλεκτική σχέση με το φλαμένκο που την έχει οδηγήσει συχνά πέρα από τα όρια της παράδοσης και στη σφαίρα του πειραματισμού. Το εκτεταμένο υπόβαθρό της, που περιλαμβάνει κλασικό και σύγχρονο χορό και η εκπαίδευση της στην μουσική του σώματος, σε συνδυασμό με την πολυετή διδακτική εμπειρία και την απεριόριστη περιέργεια και δημιουργικότητά της, την ώθησαν στην ανάπτυξη της μοναδικής της μεθοδολογίας διδασκαλίας, σχεδιάζοντας εκπαιδευτικά προγράμματα που απευθύνονται σε καλλιτέχνες όλων των ειδών, επαγγελματίες και ερασιτέχνες. Μαζί με τη δημιουργία του καινοτόμου, διεθνούς Coetáni Experimental Flamenco Festival (2015 & 2016), αυτό έπαιξε καθοριστικό ρόλο στην διαμόρφωση της σκηνής του φλαμένκο στην Ελλάδα.
Τον Οκτώβριο του 2024 συνεργάστηκε με την Εθνική Λυρική Σκηνή ως βοηθός χορογράφου για την όπερα Αλέκο του Σεργκέι Ραχμάνινοφ, σε χορογραφία του εμβληματικού χορευτή φλαμένκο Ισραέλ Γκαλβάν και σκηνοθεσία της θρυλικής Γαλλίδας ηθοποιού, Φανί Αρντάν.
Από το 2011 συνεργάζεται με το International Body Music Festival, συνεισφέροντας ως καλλιτέχνης, εκπαιδευτής και παραγωγός. Η αφοσίωσή της στο φεστιβάλ είναι αδιάκοπη και οι συνεισφορές της έχουν εμπλουτίσει την πολυπολιτισμικότητα του φεστιβάλ. Πρόσφατα ο Keith Terry, ιδρυτής του IBMF και του πολιτιστικού οργανισμού Crosspulse, παρέδωσε στο PLAYGROUND for the arts την ηγεσία του φεστιβάλ.
Έχει συμμετάσχει ως εκπαιδεύτρια στο PERCUSSIVE DANCE LAB, που διοργάνωσε η καταξιωμένη χορογράφος Sandy Silva σε συνεργασία με την ομάδα Zeugma Collectif Urban, με έδρα το Μόντρεαλ του Καναδά (2019 & 2020), στο διαπολιτισμικό και διαγενεακό πρόγραμμα Moving Around Music φέρνοντας σε επαφή ασυνόδευτους ανήλικους πρόσφυγες και Έλληνες τρίτης ηλικίας (2017), στο Body Music European Meeting ένα ερευνητικό πρόγραμμα Erasmus+ σε σχέση με την εφαρμογή της μουσικής σώματος στη μουσική και χορευτική εκπαίδευση (2019-2021) και το Living Project του Κέντρου Χορού Ι. & Ρ. Ντάνκαν, διερευνώντας μια οικολογία που αντιλαμβάνεται τον κόσμο ως ένα διασυνδεδεμένο δίκτυο όντων ενώ αναγνωρίζει τη δύναμη και τις δυνατότητες της τέχνης να κάνει αυτές τις συνδέσεις ορατές (2023).
Από το 2018 έχει αναλάβει πρωτοποριακό ρόλο καθοδηγώντας μικτές ομάδες ατόμων με ή χωρίς ακουστική ή οπτική βλάβη, στο σχεδιασμό και την υλοποίηση των εργαστηρίων CONNECTING BODY που συνδέουν άτομα από όλα τα κοινωνικά στρώματα με τον κόσμο της κίνησης και του ρυθμού, καταρρίπτοντας τα εμπόδια και ενθαρρύνοντας τη συμμετοχή. Τον Απρίλιο του 2024 σε συνεργασία με τη Βάσια Ζορμπαλή και ομάδα ερμηνευτών που συμπεριλαμβάνει κωφά και τυφλά άτομα, δημιουργούν το έργο μπ(λ)αλούν, μια ακουστική επιτελεστική εγκατάσταση που καλλιεργεί καινοτόμα ερμηνευτικά εργαλεία συμπερίληψης και προσβασιμότητας.
Το εκπαιδευτικό και χορογραφικό της έργο έχει υποστηριχθεί από το Υπουργείο Πολιτισμού, την Εθνική Λυρική Σκηνή, το Ίδρυμα Ιωάννου Φ. Κωστοπούλου, το FLUX Laboratory Athens και το Goethe-Institut Athen.
Ως διοργανώτρια και παραγωγός έχει φιλοξενήσει στο PLAYGROUND for the arts μια σειρά από διακεκριμένους καλλιτέχνες με μοναδικό καλλιτεχνικό αποτύπωμα, το έργο των οποίων ενέπνευσε ερμηνευτές, κινηματογραφιστές, εκπαιδευτικούς, συντονιστές, θεραπευτές και ακτιβιστές σε όλο τον κόσμο.

Yiota Peklari is a versatile dancer/choreographer with an interdisciplinary vocabulary who delves into the sonic and social dimension of the moving body.
She is a proud alumna of the Rallou Manou Professional Dance School and the co-founder of PLAYGROUND for the arts, a non-profit cultural organization dedicated to fostering an international community of artists, spectators, and learners who share a profound interest in the performing arts, with a particular emphasis on rhythm exploration and studies.
Her résumé boasts a multitude of collaborations and performances at prestigious festivals both in Greece and across the globe. Her artistic journey has visited stages at events such as Flamenco tanzhaus.nrw, Flamenco Festival London, Festival Musicale del Mediterraneo, Olympia International Film Festival for Children and Young People and venues including the Benaki Museum in Athens, SFJazz in San Francisco, Spinnerei in Leipzig, Sadler's Wells in London and Pygméteatern in Stockholm.
Since 1995 she has maintained a dynamic and dialectical relationship with flamenco that has often taken her beyond the confines of tradition and into the realm of experimentation. Her extensive background, encompassing classical and contemporary dance, flamenco, and body music, combined with many years of teaching experience and her boundless curiosity and creativity, have culminated in the development of her unique teaching methodology, designing educational programs aimed at performers of all kinds, professionals and amateurs. Along with the creation of the innovative, international Coetáni Experimental Flamenco Festival (2015 & 2016) this has played a pivotal role in reshaping the flamenco scene in Greece.
In October 2024 she worked for the Greek National Opera as assistant choreographer for the opera Aleko by Sergei Rachmaninoff, choreographed by the iconic flamenco dancer Israel Galvan and directed by the legendary French actress Fanny Ardant.
Since 2011, Yiota has been a collaborator with the International Body Music Festival created by Keith Terry, contributing as an artist, educator, and producer. Her commitment to the festival has been unwavering, and her contributions have enriched the festival's vibrant tapestry. Recently PLAYGROUND for the arts assumed leadership of the International Body Music Festival by Crosspulse. In September 2019 & 2020, she imparted her knowledge and expertise as an instructor at the PERCUSSIVE DANCE LAB, organized by the choreographer Sandy Silva in collaboration with the Zeugma Collectif Urban team, based in Montreal, Canada. She actively participated in the intercultural and intergenerational program Moving Around Music (2017) aiming at engaging unaccompanied refugee minors and elderly Greeks, the Body Music European Meeting (2019-2021), an Erasmus+ research program exploring the application of body music in music and dance education and the Living Project by Duncan Dance Research Center in Athens (2023), exploring an ecology that perceives the world as an interconnected network of beings while recognizing the power and potential of art to make these connections visible.
Since 2018, inspired by the work of Keith Terry, she has taken on a pioneering role leading mixed groups of people with or without hearing and visual impairments in the design and implementation of CONNECTING BODY workshops that connect people from all walks of life to the world of movement and rhythm. In April 2024, in collaboration with Vassia Zorbali and a group that includes deaf and blind performers, they created b(l)alloon, an acoustic performative installation that cultivates innovative interpretive tools of inclusion and accessibility.
As an organizer and producer she has hosted at PLAYGROUND for the arts a number of distinguished artists with a unique artistic imprint whose work inspired performers, filmmakers, educators, facilitators, therapists and activists around the world.
